That’s what the weatherman said this morning. So I put the A/C on. High heat and humidity don’t stop me from my activities – which are weeding and mulching today. I know, who mulches in August?! Apparently I had too much mulch delivered in the spring for my available mulch spreading enthusiasm! And I do need to get it off the driveway before it starts snowing. So I go at it, treating it like it’s the gym workout that I’m not doing while on vacation. Believe me, I’m probably burning more calories than at the gym. And as for using vacation time to weed and mulch – if it’s not work, it’s vacation, OK?
A passing thunderstorm gave me the opportunity to come indoors and re-hydrate. It’s true that you can’t go by thirst in weather like this. Coincidentally, the news was on with a story about five fire-fighters who succumbed to heat illness at a fire this morning.
So, how hot is it? It’s so hot that
…all the bread in the store is toast!
… the cows are giving evaporated milk!
…Jehovah’s Witnesses are telemarketing!
…the best parking spots are in the shade, not close to the entrance!
