Or drive the NJ Turnpike. I have used Craigslist to sell a few things and it works fine for that. After listing something the other day, I took a look at their “Missed Connections” page for hoots and giggles. For the unacquainted, this is where people post a long shot to find someone they may have had a contact as brief as, "Our eyes met across the crowded subway car”. The posts range from wistful and romantic to creepy and angry. Some are hilarious and based on my sampling that day, Wawa and the Turnpike seem like NJ’s top places for brief, electric encounters. But if you don’t understand m4mm, mm4w, m4ww and m4w language, you probably want to be very careful. Well actually, caution extends way farther than that. You even have to be careful selling stuff and only meet buyers somewhere public.
There is an ancient Chinese proverb that says, “An invisible thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place and circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.” I think the thread between me and true love looks something like this photo – in the tangled mess category. And I dare say it doesn’t pass through Craigslist.
